Friends, the day has finally arrived. No longer shall we be confined to the free, feature rich web based email providers like Gmail, Hotmail or Yahoo. No longer shall we be forced to support the liberal companies like Google, Apple and Microsoft that support them. No longer. This week, the first and only conservative web based email platform launched.
Fast Company covered the launch earlier this week and the complete details on the email service from Reagan.com can be found here. This is an excerpt from Michael Reagan’s call to action:
People who believe in true Reagan Conservative Values are unwittingly supporting the Obama, Pelosi and Reid liberal agenda! What do I mean? Well, every time you use your email from companies like Google, AOL, Yahoo, Hotmail, Apple and others, you are helping the liberals. These companies are, and will continue, to be huge supporters financially and with technology of those that are hurting our country.
Is that where you want your money to go? I didn’t so I changed things. I came up with the very first conservative email service provider. You now can put your name next to the name of the Greatest Conservative of all, my father Ronald Reagan.

For the low price of $39.95 per year, anyone can have their very own @reagan.com email address. As a launch special, the first year is discounted to $34.95 until 8/23. There’s no better time than now. Many addresses are still available at registration. Apparently Jimmy Carter hasn’t claimed his address yet as JimmyCarter@Reagan.com is strangely still available. Unfortunately, Ronald@Reagan.com has been claimed.
As an an added bonus, anyone who who signs up to place their name next the greatest conservative of all gets their very own copy of the “Tear Down This Wall” speech DVD!
God Bless America!
Before the secret revealing in San Francisco occurred for the iPad, the media was swarming with news and conspiracy theories. The iSlate was the conspiracy name, set for the mysterious iPad creature. After the revealing of the iPad, people were excited to place their pre-orders for the iPad. The end of March and part of April seemed to be committed to the Apple and iPad coverage. There did not seem to be competition of publicity with Apple and the iPad.
In comparison to the Microsoft Kin, there was a surprise revealing of the Kin. People were excited because the Kin is “more than a features phone with texting, because of the way it shares video, texts and other data with a circle of users in three interface capabilities called Kin Loop, Kin Spot and Kin Studio” [via ComputerWorld]. While some tech blogs were buzzing with some coverage regarding the Kin, there was another agenda item that was and continues to receive notoriety.
The Double Down from KFC was launched yesterday. If you didn’t hear about the the Microsoft Kin, you may have heard about the America’s favorite pastime: fast food. The Double Down is a “one-of-a-kind sandwich features two thick and juicy boneless white meat chicken filets (Original Recipe® or Grilled), two pieces of bacon, two melted slices of Monterey Jack and pepper jack cheese and Colonel’s Sauce. This product is so meaty, there’s no room for a bun” [via KFC]! Look at this picture:

Clearly the Microsoft Kin is so important that everyone had to cover the Kin…and the Double Down. Talk about competition for the lime light. So will the Microsoft Kin be popular? Who knows, but all I know is that I will remember the Microsoft Kin as the day that the glorious Double Down was released. Speaking of which, I have to get dinner. I’ll let you know how it is tomorrow. Have any of you tried the Double Down?

While standing in line with a friend today to get coffee at one of my favorite coffee shops, we decided to taste their decaf Holiday blend sample. Moving a few inches to the side to get a sample, a woman decided to abruptly cut us in line. She knew that we were in line and regardless, she continued on. There are many things wrong with what happened in this situation.
Firstly, when is decaf coffee acceptable? Secondly, wasn’t this woman taught manners? I did not take this personally, but it made me think about what is socially acceptable versus what is acceptable in the business. Cutting in front of me and my friend was rude under social rules, but companies do similar actions to one another routinely.
Today, the Associated Press (A.P.) released an article discussing the Apple Tablet. According to the A.P., the Apple Tablet is “a cross between a laptop and an iPhone or iPod Touch.” However, with the release of Amazon’s Kindle, economists and business analysts are excited by the prospect of this potential e-book war with the mystical Apple Tablet. While the Kindle was released first, Apple potentially is leapfrogging Amazon to target this new and growing niche of e-book readers.
Even though users, analysts and the like are interested in the evolution of the mythical Apple Tablet, this healthy competition between brands and products allows users to receive the best product to fulfill their needs. So while Apple may be “cutting in line,” like what this woman did to me this morning, I will not complain if Apple decides to make a competing e-book reader. After all, if they make a new product that helps me and others, then the Kindle will just have to listen to their users desires and modify or convince users of their product.
Until then, I will not fault businesses for “leapfrogging” one another, but the next time someone cuts me in line, I will call them out…unless it is Steve Jobs.
