Don’t Mess Around with Angry Birds
August 20th, 2010
I may be late to the Angry Birds party, but I’m here now and I don’t think I can leave. For those of you who don’t know, Angry Birds is a highly addictive iPhone and iPad app. The premise is straightforward; evil green pigs stole the birds’ eggs, which of course made them very angry and they must destroy everything in their path for vengeance. Perfect.
As you can see, these birds mean business. I had a cross country flight this week with no wifi so I thought it would be a good opportunity to check this game out. I proceeded to dump 4 straight hours into it. While the concept may seem silly (by “silly” I mean awesome), there’s just something about using a slingshot to fling angry birds at green pigs to cause as much damage as possible, very rewarding.
I was initially disheartened when I finished the first 63 levels in the “Poached Eggs” segment because I thought I had already completed the game, but really had only completed the first section. And even if you do complete each level in the game, you’ll want to keep coming back for more to get higher scores and a three star ranking on each level.
The full version of Angry Birds is available in the App Store for $0.99 on iPhone/iPod Touch and $4.99 on iPad. And you can check out the lite version for free as well. You can check out some game play footage below.
Be warned, Angry Birds is very addictive.
