April 3rd Is The iPad Release Day: What else has happened on April 3rd?
March 13th, 2010
In my inbox today, I received an e-mail from Apple telling me that I can now pre-order my iPad for the April 3rd release.
This April 3rd is not only exciting because of the iPad release, but also because it is” Tweed Day” and “Don’t Go To Work Day Unless It’s Fun Day.” Coincidence? I think not. Here are some other historical events that have occurred on April 3rd:
1860 – The first successful United States Pony Express run from Saint Joseph, Missouri to Sacramento, California begins.
1968 – Martin Luther King Jr. delivers his “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop” speech.
1973 – The first portable cell phone call is made in New York City, United States.
1975 – Bobby Fischer refuses to play in a chess match against Anatoly Karpov, giving Karpov the title of World Champion by default.
1996 – Suspected “Unabomber” Theodore Kaczynski is arrested at his cabin in Montana, United States.
